Thank You!

I would like to thank the following Democrats who voted against the Huge "Stimulus" Package!
Allan Boyd (D-FL)
Bobby Bright (D-AL)
Jim Cooper (D-TN)
Brad Ellsworth (D-IN)
Parker Griffith (D-AL)
Paul Kanjorski (D-PA)
Frank Kratovil (D-MD)
Walt Minnick(D-ID)
Collin Peterson(D-MN)
Heath Shuler (D-NC)
Gene Taylor (D-MS)

Whatever your reason - I don't really care - I am just happy you voted "NO". It was the right thing to do.

If you'd like to read over the almost 650 page stimulus bill - you can read it here.

Illegal immigrants WILL be getting money back from the government in this bill. Illegal folks. Breaking the law people. They are taking our money and giving it to people who are breaking the law to live here.

From looking over the bill - it appears that this bill will provide many, many jobs in the government. Problem with that - is that to pay those employed by the government - the government must take our money to give it to those working for them. (Unlike a private sector job - where you are paid by people partaking of your product/service.)

However, if you are in the construction industry - there will be A LOT of jobs for you - because the bill has a lot of money set aside to build new buildings. Oh and computer companies should do well - there is a lot of money to update technology and get new computer systems.

OK, when the money from this "Stimulus" bill runs out - what happens to all the new programs started with that money? Do we then have to "cut" programs - that people have become dependent on - or do we just keep taking our money, more and more of it - to keep the programs going?

these are really good questions. In regards to the immediate needs of creating jobs- I can see how enticing it is.
but you are right... what about later?

Oh man, don't even get me started. Plus our wonderful State of CA is in such a mess that it is worse than what is going on in Washington and that isn't very good. The CA politicians have spent us into nothing. Posing IOU's for our income tax and college Fed Aid which my DD's boyfriend has.

My son hasn't worked since the second week in December...no work at the docks.

Oh man and these Wall St people getting their bonuses...I better stop right here!

Yes, thanks to those few Dems who voted!

I am so proud of the House Republicans for having the backbone to do the right thing, and tremendously impressed with this handful of Democrats for having the courage to go against their own party for what's right. We need to make sure they know that we appreciate their efforts!

I can only hope the Senate makes the same stand, but the pessimist in me has grave doubts. Either way, though, we're still going to have this thing shoved down our throats. It's frustrating, to say the least.

Good questions! I'm still boiling over those bank execs giving themselves bonuses with the TARP money. Ridiculous.
