Those Number Thingys

Well, I really enjoyed the blog party hosted by 5 minutes for Mom! I have met lots of neat people and read many very interesting blogs - many I bookmarked for future visits! I negleted many things to attend the party - TV, Books, HWH, housework - pretty much everything - after I got the kids in bed - I was partying!!!!!
BUT - I got soooooo tired of typing in those little letters to make my typing post. Many, many, many times I did not/could not get the letters right. Especially when it was cursive. Especially when it included the letter d, q, or w!
I know my site requires readers to type those words to put in their post. Do you? I am considering removing them. If you don't have them as a requirement for your blogger blog - do bad things happen ???? Let me know!

I lurk around your site quite often. I do not have word verification on my site. I have never received any unwarranted comments or spam. I can't remember what site it was recently (a very popular one like Such Simple Pleasures or something thate gets over 30 comments a day) that said they get spam comments if they don't do it. I hate the word verification especially later at night when my eyes are getting tired and the lighting is bad.

I don't have word verification and I think I might have had two spam comments. They are so easy to remove that I just left it the way it is. I have a hard time reading those little letters sometimes too.

I took the verification off, and I have only had one spam comment. I just deleted it.

I absolutely hate those codes! I have them turned off. I don't mind some that have you type "ROBOT" (to ensure you aren't one) or a word (like flower or sand) like on An Island Life. I don't get a lot of comments (except I got about a 100 during the party), but I've never had any spam.

I enter a lot of sweepstakes, and many of their verification codes are printed on a striped or dotted background. And I never know if I need to use capitals or not.

acmuhge (that's my verification code for this comment.)

I don't have verfication and I've only had a couple spam (one in a foreign language) and it's easy to delete.

Hi Angie,
Thanks for dropping by and leaving such lovely comments. I do detest that letter thingy. I sometimes, just skip a post because I can’t seem to get it right.

I don’t know if something bad happens, so far nothing has happened to mine?

I deleted mine, then I found an intruder on a friends blog and put it right back on. A little work for some protection...

I took mine off. Occasionally I get spam comments, but they're easy to recognize. It will say somthing like "click here." And that will be the only thing it says. But, don't click there!!

It hasn't gotten to the point yet that I'd turn it back on.

I don't have verification turned on either because I have a difficult time reading them too. And if I mess up once I usually just give up and don't post my comment. But since I don't have it on my blog, I have gotten a few spam messages so I just go in an erase them.

Now you've got me thinking. I currently have mine turned on bu agree, it is so annoying...I wish I could set it up like the verification on laced with grace...that site just requires an easy word like Grace or Mark.
